Welcome! We’re Valorie and Charles Hock, the founders and owners of Barberry Retreats. Owning our own home in Cashiers and spending at least 30% of the year in the mountains, we have truly fallen in love with the North Carolina mountains. Our passion for this area led us to share the experiences we cherish with others. That’s why we decided to create Barberry Retreats—a collection of upscale rental homes designed to offer you a truly unforgettable stay, year after year.

Each property has been thoughtfully designed and curated to capture the same magic that made us fall in love with the area.
